Hi Rover Folks,
I decided to join after buying my second P6 V8, which is currently being restored.
I'm an ex-pat Austrian living in Stockport.
An Uncle of me had a P6 back in Austria when I was a kid and I always admired the car. The usual 'when I'm grown up, I'll have one of these... thing.
Here we are, 40 years later, and I finally dared to buy a P6 V8. I knew the car is a dog when I bought it, but it was cheap and I considered it a learning spree, i.e., let's see what goes wrong and I will know what to look for when I buy another one. In the end, nothing went wrong, at least nothing serious. But I just wanted one in better condition. So I sold the one I had and bought my second one, which is overall better, has all the desirable options, but needs some welding to the sills (what else is new). This is currently being done and the car will be back on the road in June.
This is my first P6:
The car is now with an enthusiast in Yorkshire.
And this is the current state of affairs with my 'new' car:
