Does anybody have experience of AcuSpark electronic ignition mudule?

I'm just about to fit one and was wondering if anyone has had either an easy or bad time fitting one?

Only good experience for me. Easily fitted and never given any trouble that wasn't caused by me. Mine is still wired into the washer bottle which is not ideal but doing very few miles a year at moment so not to worried. The only real issue I've heard is with the baseplate in distributor! The early type not being suitable but that was a few years ago now.

A few years ago forumites including myself reported that these units didn't survive the engine heat over time and stopped working after X miles. "These" being £30 units of two different brands and from different eBay sellers. Don't know whether they've been made better since. I replaced mine (2x) with Pertronix units, which cost more but which don't have a poor rep. Touch wood, all is well.

Thanks for the advice. Just purchased fro Accuspark direct and they made a point on making certain I had ordered the correct one for the Rover.
I'm not too hot on electrics, I understand that it needs a direct live feed?

Yes, some take said feed from the windscreen washer but I'd consider a dedicated one. From memory I think I found my coil input feed was unballasted, and used that. Can't see why it shouldn't always be an unswitched one.

Re. the module, the 'correct one' for the Rover P6B has to do with the baseplate inside the distributor that you mount the module on. You'd have to specify the same when ordering a unit by another brand.
