The insurance assessor will simply add up the repair bill and compare it to the value of your car.

Its got an agreed value of £4,000 and the repairs Ive been quoted are under a £1,000. what are my chances. What other options do I have ?
 
Sorry to hear about your accident Glen. I had dealings with insurance assessors for my TC earlier this year and I was surprised how easy it all was. My big downfall was not having an agreed value and I could only claim 70% of the cars value without it being written off. Had it been valued higher it would have been back on the road by now as it would have been repaired at a specialist instead of trying to find time to me do it.
 
Today is D day the insurance assessor arrives at the garage. Feeling sick as if I'm about to sit a major examination. Ive got everything crossed.

you'll be alright! Your car was worth more than the cost of fixing it. Usually these people are 3rd parties (not the insurance company themselves) who don't really have any interest except giving an honest valuation.
