A Possibile Bristol Rover Rally?

I went up to Ashton Court in Bristol on Sunday morning as it was such a nice day, and it got me thinking back to the late eighties when the Rover Sports Register used to hold a Rover rally there. I had an old Rover 2000TC at the time. I was then thinking how nice it would be to have a rally there again. There are not that many Rover shows in the Bristol and South West area these days, most now being in the North or South-East of the country. (Although there are quite a few other shows). Ashton Court now has a visitor centre, a small cafe, gardens, and acres of woodland to explore along with a model railway at the top if you have the strength to walk to it! Bristol is also a very accessible area from all over the country with the M4 and M5 motorways, and is a central southern location.

I was wondering what the response would be to the idea of reinstating a rally in Bristol, possibly at Ashton Court, and if anyone would be willing to help? If there is enough interest, I could look into it deeper.

Nice run down the fosseway from the east midlands so if PAE's up and about by then it could be a goer!

Rich.

Likewise, I did a similar jaunt down the Fosse to the Shepton Mallet classic do last weekend and it was a doddle (especially in such a fine carriage as a P6B  )

Nidge.

It's got to be done. I'd be there (would be a good opportunity for a family gathering as my brother lives in Cardiff and loves his Rovers...)

I'm sure a certain Mr. York of this parish would fancy it as well, right on his doorstep.

As a P6 owner for many years, and several cars (born in Bristol, now living in Cardiff) I would try to be there, albeit in my Triumph Stag unless anyone objects?
Regards, John.
