3500S Wanted

Evening all,

New member, but long time classic owner and fan, looking for a really nice 3500S.

Anything considered but it must be in top condition cosmetically and mechanically. I'm based in Sheffield but would be more than happy to travel to the other end of the country for the right car to come and live with me in my heated garage.

Got to be real S?

I'd prefer a 3500 with a 5 speed conversion with the earlier 10.5:1 motor and should be cheaper.

I had a LT77 conversion on my old MG BGT V8 and I wasn't fond of it, so the original 'box would be my preference if at all possible. That wouldn't be a deal breaker though, as the extra ratio does come in handy for modern traffic.

Still on the hunt :)

No probs. Mine was just on the wrong side of clunky, as opposed to a nice notchy action. You could feel the gears meshing and I wasn't keen on it really. The four speed MG box had a lovely smooth action, but unfortunately it wasn't man enough to handle the torque from the V8 and died weakly in the end...
