Wasnt pas an option on all S2 V8's??

AFAIK it was, but "proper" Series 2's had HIF6's, not HS6's. "K" plate onwards had both, HIF6's, and the option of PAS. Not my area of expertise, but IIRC PAS came in on the nada cars which all had HS6's, but didn't make it over here until the HIF6's came in. I never saw a new V8 with HS6's and PAS. It's possible an old stock V8 with HS6's had PAS fitted by the dealer in an effort to sell it.

Sounds feasible, and my V8 is an early series 2 car, no. 2324 of the series 2 3500 autos, 1st registered 19th Jan 1971, so quite an early S2, it has a 4 fuse fusebox on the inner wing, the ribs on the edges of the slam panel, like the S1 cars. I don't think its been mucked around with much, but at the end of the day, I don't know the history of it before my custodianship, so don't haven't got a clue if the power steering's original or not.
