3500 wont move!

Hi Guys!
Awful day yesterday.. Was driving along a busy High Road. When I tried to accelerate from the lights, there was a bang from the rear (I think) and the car would move in gear.. But it did make an awful noise when I tried! Put it in neutral and pushed around the next corner. Had to call AA, and now its on my driveway. I am not able to get under for a look.. Any ideas?.. P6 3500 Auto

Hi, It sounds like either the extension shaft on the diff or one of the drive/half shafts. If you put it in gear and rev it does the speedo show an increase in speed?

Edit don't do it too long, only enough to prove. Because there will be some debris in there and you don't want to lunch the diff.

Last time I did that, it was the diff..

Happen to me on my 3500….it was the Diff.

I also had that some years ago, it was the diff extension on one side that had broke. On the oppesite side, it had twisted but not broken yet.
Some new parts from WINS and effort in my workshop soon rectified the problem.
