2200 distributor - 2200 distributor

Hi I have noticed on my recently aquired 77 2200 tc that the pionts and distributor cap are totally different to any other 2200 I have owned.Does any body know if rover changed these on the late models as I am having trouble getting fixed up with new ones,as the motor factors are coming up with the older style,any parts numbers would be grateful. thanks gary.

I have a 1977 2200tc. I'm currently swapping the engine for a rebuilt unit from a '75 car. However, the distributors on the two engines are certainly different. I believe that the later distributor is similar to a mini's (according to the bloke who services the car, and who has a couple of minis).

Thanks got fixed up at an old style motor factors that used parts catalogues rather than just relying on the computer!They cross refernced parts numbers etc,just they way it uesd to be much more efficent in these cases.cheers gary.
