A lot of that is not too bad at all - just needs stripping and repainting.

Some suspicious looking yellow crayon there though - from an old MOT test?

I have put the car on sorn so I am hoping to get it done by the end of the month. It all depends if I can get some paint to match. I have already prep the panels, and fixed the ns sill which was damaged with a trolley jack. Where you see the yellow crayon someone has wrote no 27 there.

All looks very straightforward apart from the inside of the rear wing - but that's not an MoT item and you can change the wing as and when you are ready to.

That could be from the factory - nothing to worry about in that case.

Overspray suggests that it has had at least a partial respray in the past, maybe it's a non-standard colour, could even be something like ford actic white, I would suggest taking a panel to the paint shop and getting them to match it to that.

Can anybody help with matching the paint on my car, which is arctic white? I have been to autocoulours and my local body shop but the paint they supplied are to bright I did take a panel so they could match it but I think they just went off the code they had on their computer most probably the code is right for the car but after 27 years it has faded any advise would be appreciated :?

I took the car to the body shop and they said the paint is original but somebody had touch up the rust and painted without masking off.
(I also need the rubber seal which goes on the Decker panel where is the best place to get one from ideally already trimmed thank you all for your advice)

Can anybody tell me the best way to seal inside of the wings
I have now cleaned off and treated the rust. I was thinking of priming and waxoyling :?:

Hi Kevin!

Anyone still using Tetroseal? I remember crawling under my old Maxi...and coating myself with it is as well. I thought it was long gone until...

Great price on ebay!

I've invested in a couple of cans. Great stuff! :)

I have got some waxoyl underseal for under floor and inside wings
And DINITROL 3125 CAVITY WAX for inside the doors etc
I would like to know is do i waxoyl over the treated rust area or prime it first

I still use that on customers cars :)
Very messy, even gets inside your gloves somehow  but looks good when you check back years later. I find this time of year I have to warm it up a lot to get it to go on nice though

Hi, When i was younger and almost always skint, i used the old engine oil dirty job but it did the job :)

I have cleaned off all the rust, mostly surface :D (looks worse on the photos) and coated with rust treatment.
But I still don’t know what to do for the best, prime over the rust treated panels and waxoyl over primer :?: ,
or just use waxoyl without the primer, :?:
The areas are inside of the wings I would like to get it done this weekend, so any advice would be appreciated

I would think Waxoyl over primer would give best protection
Thanks Dave for your advice,
I will coat with primer first, I am going to hold back on underselling with waxoyl
I want to see if there is a better underseal on the market i can use.
I have been told that POR15 is one of the best :?:

Current waxoyl is supposed to have a rust convertor built in, so should be ok on it's own. However you can never have enough protection, I would prime and paint and then apply waxoyl, just to be sure. Waxoyl doesn't last long if exposed to water spray, e.g. in a wheel arch, you need something tougher for those areas.
