Possibly a factory registered car? - I'd wager that's a 1973 built car, I doubt whether it would have hung around for nine months prior to registration.

Shown as alive - tax about to expire.

Cheers

Yeah tax due end of this month... Sorry it's 1973.. Other car is 1972. How did you guys know this? And what did you mean by factory registered?

Thankyou

-XC is the index plate issued at Solihull VRO from 1964 to 1974.
Most (but not by any means all) factory registered vehicles have 'XC' plates (Rover also registered vehicles in Birmingham, and in the case of the 'FLK's', London, so there are exceptions).

Generally, but not always, a P6 with an 'XC' registration was registered for one purpose or another by Rover, although there were also some local new car dealerships using the Solihull VRO, and it's not unknown for an apparent 'factory' P6 to be nothing of the sort. I know of an 'XC' plated Three Thousand Five sold to a friend of mine some years ago that the vendor had stated was a 'director's car'.....when the owner did check it out it transpired to be nothing of the sort and was not registered by The Rover Company.

Cheers everybody for the replies. I have emailed the motor heritage to see if they have any information for me. But thanks for all your help.
