Open to all 1970's cars, everyone is encouraged to dress accordingly so dig out those flares and loud shirts, entry is free.
Held at the Mid Norfolk Railway. Dereham station, Dereham, Norfolk. (for contact details and more info look on the events page at www.mnr.co.uk)
The railway will be running appropriate 1970's diesel locomotives and rolling stock, entry passes include complimentary rides on the railway.(an 11 mile line through one of the prettiest parts of Norfolk, roughly an hour round trip.) there will be displays of 1970's memorabilia so come on down and join the fun!

I might do that, it's Norwich car after all :D

In the car's 31 year life, it that has never been owned outside a 40-mile radius.... until now, as it currently lives Herts/Beds border, after paying cash, jumping in and driving it home.

Does anyone know if camping will be available nearby.and how many will be turning up in 1970s clothes.we,d dress up if there were going to be a few of us.sounds a good laugh.as well as taking lots of piccys again of lots of cars.

ooo you're rich! I saw a tatty one for sale at Enfield Pageant the other week and it was tagged £500 !
If I had gone out and bought them all up 15 years ago for a tenner each, people would have laughed openly...

Mate of mine bought a 1977 silver jubilee chopper (all silver and alloy wheels limited edition) from an ad he placed in the freeads, now he paid £25 for it off an elderly lady and got wait for this
£1500 for it on ebay!

Hahahahaha

I like a bit of humour :;):

I've had my Mk1 Chopper since I was a kid. I found the frame for it at a mates house, and then collected the parts where I could. My Mum and Dad must have told me to get rid of it a thousand times over the years!!! It even moved up to Derbyshire with me, as I refused to get rid of it! It's currently sat in my loft.

I'll check the diary, and see if I can make it to the rally. Its about time the Chopper was ridden again!!! I'm not sure how many health and safety rules will be broken riding it with stack healed boots, bell bottoms, and a bad taste shirt!!!!

Anybody else camping this weekend,we,ve just bought some clothes on ebay, cool clothes,we,ll look real groovy.

ah. it's come around already has it ? nope, I'm of up Northwest picking up me new motor. Or should i say another old motor.

No I meant on the 70s weekend ,which is the 15th july. We,ve found a place to camp, which is £9.25 a night including electric hook up.really cheap

I've just checked with the diary (well, the mrs!), and we've got the cars booked in for a classic car treasure hunt.DRAT!!!!

Looks like it will be a while before I get me Chopper out! :p :(

Anyone know if theres any cheap caravan parks within 20 miles of this venue for 2 nights,we were going in our frame tent, but as our grandaughter wants to come and dress up there wont be enough room in our car for her and tent and we dont have a towbar for the p6.thanks

Apologies for not getting back sooner, I've just been on an extended holiday in Cardigan bay.
Right... camp sites? it all depends what you want, there's a few in my immediate locality. one in Dickleburgh, one just outside Diss (Scole), and there are two at West Harling, the Dower House being one that I can particularly recommend, it's set in a lovely part of Thetford forest and electric hook up pitches are available. I can't find the number off hand but it'll probably be on the net if you want to look it up.
there will be a few of us wearing 70's clothing (all from the Norwich Classic Vehicle Club) so feel free to join in if you want.
If you fancy going there in Convoy I can arrange a rendezvous point.

If anyone is going to be camping there please let me know. I might arrange a barbecue round mine on the saturday evening (I live about 3 miles away)

Sound good,we,ll definately meet up for the convoy,a bbq sounds good, but not for mrs shes a veggie.she,l bring her own rabbit food.Do you know any sites nearby that rent out vans,it will save us buying a towbar. thanks
