17" wheels

Key discussion is the offset, although 7.5" is abit on the wide side! Email the seller and ask him what the offset is for starters and then we'll try to help. I reckon 205 section is the widest that will fit in the P6 rear mudguards without radical modification. The wheel diameter merely affects the aspect ratio you will need to get the correct rolling diameter. The problem with using 205 is that you need to get the offset absolutely spot on. Without that you will rub the tyre either on the D post or on the inner mudguard/boot side. Wheel width is irrelevant to that discussion except in so far as the 205 section is either rolly polly on a narrow rim or a bit stretched on a wide one.

If you have a search through the board history there was a user on here called alimorg who fitted a set of cherokee wheels on a p6 a few years ago. I think they might have been 16" tho'

Yes, and they had to be machined, with custom spacers and body adapted .... the car ended up going scrap on ebay about 6 months ago. To my mind looked too modern. A set of minilites, cosmics etc are far nicer in my humble opinion.

That's funny Jim, I admit to having expected you'd be all for larger diameter modern wheels, but fair play, you've opined that you go for traditional 'period' aftermarket alloys in smaller sizes, and I can't fault that. Minilites look kind of 'hill climb/rally/track day' and Cosmics look, well, simply wicked. Wolfrace slots are sadly too rare, and not as sweet as Cosmics. My tuppence-worth, looks as if the offset on those big Jeep wheels is waaaaay off, reckon those hoops will need huge chunky spacers to fit. Purely aesthetically they look too modern, not in keeping with the styling of the P6. Alimorg's Jeep rims were also, for me, too modern and thus didn't suit the car.

No machining was required, and the spacers were 5mm from the local boy racer shop (only needed for the front) they were the 16" jobbies though - DVLA says sorn not due, but would be gutted if it has been scrapped I loved that car - as a side note I did actually test fit a set of 17" alloys as well - needed a 10mm spacer at the front but looked a bit too big even for me!

This WAS mine with 16" alloys (In this pic the car has been lowered in photoshop but everything else is as it was)

I believe there was another car sold on ebay a while back with some fitted, maybe this is the one TwinPlenum means ?
