Ive just bought a full set of mint 15" P5 rostyles for my P6 complete with wheelnuts, all for £150 :D Bargin i thought! What i need to know is, whats the best tyre size to keep the rolling radius the same, or as near as? I dont want anything that looks too low profile, but on the other hand nothing that'll rub the hell out of my D-posts!

Cheers,
Phil

Hello Phil,

With the P5 Rostyle wheel being 5" wide. the maximum width you can fit is limited to 195 series tyres. The size closest to the oiginal size for your new 15" wheels will be 185 / 70 HR 15. If you wish to go to 195 series tyres, the closest is 195 / 65 HR 15.

I beg to differ Ron. For a V8, standard tyres are 185/80 X 14 which gives a rolling radius of 651.59mm. 195/65 X 15 gives a rolling radius of 635.50, 195/70 X 15 are 654 .00. So I'd try for 195/70 X 15. If they are going on a 4 cyl car then original are 165/80 X 14 for 619.59 and the closest 195's are then 195/60 X 15 for 615.00 rolling radius.

Hello Chris,

You are right Chris regarding the diameters that you listed. I should have been more clear in that the sizes that are avaiable today are very limited, and as such the 195 / 70 R 15 is only available as a light truck tyre...certainly that is the case from Michelin in Australia, where as the 195 / 65 R 15 is readily available in two formats for cars.

That is true here as well Ron!!
Ive been checking out 15" tyre sizes for my TR6.
I wanted to fit 195/70 x 15 to it to keep rolling radius as close as poss,,,but I will have to go for 195/65 or 60 as I don't want van tyres!

Hello Dave,

At some point I guess the inevitable will happen and good tyres for our 14" wheels will start to disappear too... :( Have you found some to your liking for your TR6?

Ron.
