    Distributor Cap Mystery

When I bought my Rover P6 2000 TC it had a seized engine, while it was soaking in diesel I set about buying new ignition parts for it, such as a new cap, points etc. When it was unseized, these new parts and some fettling got it running a treat. I have since sold the P6 and recently bought a...

    Chassis numbers

Thanks Tonys, that page was superb, I now know its a 1956 Rover 60 and it was engine number 1340 from a production run of 1807 in that year. Regards, Karl.

    Chassis numbers

Speaking of chassis numbers, do anyone have a VIN check web site for P4s ? I have been offered a P4 but the guy selling it hasn't a clue and won't take any photos, he has just given me the VIN. Thanks, Karl.

    Wanted : P6 2000 TC Exhaust Manifold

Latest holes are just pin holes near downpipe so I am going to try some Holts Gun Gum. Only £3 off eBay, will see how that works.

    Wanted : P6 2000 TC Exhaust Manifold

Oh well, it looks like they are made out of Unobtainium so I might have to fire up the blow torch again :-) Thanks.

    Wanted : P6 2000 TC Exhaust Manifold

Mine has been welded up so many times, I think its just a collection of patches welded together now :-) I see several folks have placed Wanted ads for them over the years so I am not holding out much hope. Its for a car I am restoring, so not terribly urgent but I can't tune the carbs properly...

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

Demetris, I have an additional favour to ask of you, one of the photos is a bit unclear and I was hoping for another shot from a different angle. I have attached a photo of the rear carb with a red box round the part I am curious about. It appears to be a U shaped support that cradles the...

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

I have already tried them, I sent them an email with all the photos etc. They got back to me and said that these are Rover specific parts. I tried Wins International and they have all the parts I need, a bargain at £76 delivered. Thats the 2nd time they have helped me with hard to find P6...

Thank you to everyone who helped and took the time to reply to my query. I am on the hunt now for this long shaft, I am hoping its an HS8 part not a P6 part. Does anyone have one ? Regards, Karl.

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

Demetris, thanks for the photos, the last one shows the rod I am interested in but frustratingly the end I am trying to find out about is hidden in the photo. It does however not seem to be anywhere near the part of the carb I have the clevis in and throttle cable connected to. I am now more...

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

If I remove this non-standard plate, will what I am left with connect to the rod/linkage do you think ? I have attached a section of the Haynes Manual for a 2000 TC throttle assembly. Obviously all the rods etc are inside the car, I presume all that is in the engine bay is Number 18, the...

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

I have NOTHING in the car for the throttle. I realise that there should be some bracketry on the steering idler, I have none of it. I have no pedal and nothing inbetween the carb and the hole on the floor where the pedal should be :-) Thanks guys. Regards, Karl.

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

Steven, Thanks for taking the time to reply, I am confused as the carb throttle assembly has a pin for a throttle cable with a clevis connection, which I have fitted. I can see the page in the manual with the rods etc but can't see how this connects to what I have on the carb. Assuming of...

    Info. required with 2000TC Throttle

Hi, I am restoring my 2000TC. I bought an abandoned and annoyingly incompete project, yes I know I was asking for trouble :) The engine was seized and I have it running nicely now, thanks to some new lids and stay up ethanol safe floats from Burlen (aka SU). My next challenge is the throttle...
