If you just need to add the correct text, get a good quality photo of the label and, using Photoshop (or similar program), remove the Leyland address and add the Rover address text using an appropriate font and size. The final photo can be used to produce the sticky label.
I can recommend a...
That's a logical possibility. I checked my records and in fact the pads were replaced about 1000 miles ago. I can't remember when the noise started - it's been a fair few miles and might have coincided with the pads replacement. I think I'll leave it for a while and see if it quietens down.
Fair point. I had front and rear doors open and a good through draught; plus it was only for a couple of minutes. CO will sit in the pit though, so don't leave the car idling for ages whilst underneath!
I got the car over the pit and checked the condition of brake pads on both sides. All were good with plenty of meat left, as I expected. Also got my wife to drive backwards and forwards whilst I was underneath listening for where the noise comes from. No joy, it was probably too low speed and I...
Thanks Ron.
As you say, could be a few things really. The pads have been replaced not so many miles ago, but I'll check their condition.
I think I'll get my wife to drive the car backwards and forwards over the pit while I'm underneath so I can try and pinpoint where the noise is coming from...
I'm posting this in brakes section, although the issue may well be in hub, drive shaft or diff area.
A noise is emanating from the rear offside which is a scraping sound at walking pace but becomes a squeaking at normal road speed. The noise has a frequency which increases with road speed. The...
Thanks Vern.
Upon investigation of the air valve assembly I found the diaphragm support missing - the bit that has the pushrod. I had changed this previously as the helper spring and main spring were broken; in fact the new one did not come with the helper spring. ( I've seen forum posts that...
My brake servo isn't working, as evidenced by the brake pedal test and having to press really hard on the brake pedal to stop the car. Having stripped down the servo the only thing I can find that may be the cause was the air valve piston which was stuck in the bore of the slave cylinder...
I used the Furniture Clinic. They have a complete range of products to repair holes, cracks, scuffs and will match colours (from a supplied patch) to enable a full refurbishment back to as new. I had to repair cracks and scuffs, but also decided to re-colour the whole interior, including the...

Not been to that show before. I've added to my calendar so hopefully can make it. I've been to Glemham Hall and Stonham Barns shows in previous years, so will check when/ if they are on this year.
I'm in Felixstowe, so good to hear of more folk in the area. Just waiting for the warmer weather so I can finish spraying my doors to complete a bit of a rust removal & refurb job during lockdown. Hopefully out and about in it again late spring.
Thanks. Looking at their website FAQs it does say the product can be used on vinyl but recommends using their adhesion promoter first - did you use this?.
Having taken the seat covers off both front seats to re-stich the pleats, I found the leather smelt really strong on the underside...
Hi, you did a great job judging by the photos. I'm researching what products to use to restore the colour back to original on my sandalwood interior. The vinyl and leather have faded to different shades so I want to get them all to an even, consistent shade. I have a leather offcut from the rear...
MrTask - Embossed type with 2 pins. Apart from the scrape on the bottom edge revealing the bare metal, the badge is not too bad, so I'd rather refurbish it than buy new.
Weld through zinc primer is closest so far!
Mike - yes I think you're right; it does look anodised. I did try light sanding and it rubbed through the finish to reveal shiny metal.
Quattro, thanks for the suggestion.
Hi all, just completing refurbishment of my front wing ( all the other panels to follow, one by one off the car), so while I wait for the colour coat to harden I thought I'd take a look at the 3500 wing badge. It's a bit tatty with some of the grey finish scraped back to shinier bare metal...
Hi all,
I'm refurbishing my mechanical fuel pump and all going well until trying to refit the diaphragm pull rod over the hook on the link. Spent ages trying to locate it without luck. I can feel the hook with the rod but just can't hook it over. Got sore thumbs now, so wondering if there's a...
