Just a note to say, that Classic Shows who ran an event at Capesthorne Hall successfully recently on 30th August are running a show at Castle Howard this Sunday....just need the weather.....the parking area is a massive flat surface!...hope to see you there.
Great weather at the large gathering at Leighton Hall...Phat Rovers first time in arena awarded best custom...the Rover took it amongst some nice cars!
When you build a car without interior, I guess it will be loud, but I personally like that, can't comment on roadholding just yet, but the show season will test it.
Well here I am 7 years older....and wiser....
well that's debatable!
I had a dream...and here it is....sometimes, many times in fact it became my nightmare...always staring back at me...and there was many an hour I spent just staring back at it....I know lots of you know the feeling!
It was...
Hi Peter.
It's sticky backed....and you use heatgun to shape....
and in todays world, if you want to see how something is carried out, you have to look no further than You Tube and its all there for the world to see!
its only cost effective if you are buying the wrap or paint supplies and doing...
Pics of progress........to be painted xmas week by my lad....unless snow stops play
colour chosen ....grey as on very early models
air intakes have had carbon wrap removed.....that should make some of you happy
It's seemed a long build and that it would never end.....but boy am I looking forward...
That was my original idea as on page one on here, on my list of things to do....and I bought 6 grills to do it, was painting matt black with black 'flyeyes' on headlamps
but somewhere along the line......
all grills now given to another p6 owner
I used a pic of the ''The Rovering Members'' car...
Well here is 'Phat Rover' escaped at last from its tomb!....been so long, I imagined it would be it's final resting place!
My lad has taken it away to do the body...I thought I had got it something like.....but what do I know......I was going to 'wrap' it.....so here are pics before its shiny...
Play days pics.....
grill over lamp
Cut edge off another bonnet...I thought in head this would work with a full length grill in between....but how wrong I was...
original grill..
later grill...it did hide more of x-member though..
the car just scrapes through with my lad...
I'm still going to finish this someday!!!!...
playing with front panel...and changed my mind yet again!
the early panel as been with this car from the start....so I didn't in the end have the heart to part with it....
I thought it looked quite mean with no front panel on....but maybe that's just...
misc pics
boot cable release between back seat
Lighter Metro seats use similar rear seat material.
Headlamps to be raised.
boot locks used as door locks.
my lads on with prepping the last wing.....when he can spare time from building his next project! a VVC mk1 Metro van!
ditching the early grill and will play with this one
Hi folks......Still chipping away at this.....took it onto street for first time in years to just turn around...as can only work on one side at a time! and i wanted to see what it looked like!...and run like and did it stop! ....
it's not far off, but i have said that for years now...
At last, I have finished the front nearside wing and door mod with a little help from my son, and much appreciate his body sanding skills.
....now the other wing to do, and modify the front panel to stop it 'frowning' and I'll be a happy chappy.
