V8 Carbs

Hi all, not been on the forum for a long time but the bug is beginning to bite me again to get my V8 on the road. I’d like to get my SU carbs serviced/rebuilt could anybody recommend someone that might be able to do this for me? Thanks in advance! Brian.

    Lug centric wheel nuts

Hi Chaps, just an update on the situation. My alloys are now on, any concerns I had thankfully didnt materialise, seem to have adequate clearance and appear to run with minimal runout. Result. I think they look rather nice. [/img]

    Lug centric wheel nuts

Yes, I agree with what you say about the over thinking of things, maybe I'm just being finicky. I'm going to get hold of some part worns to try out soon, I'm reasonably confident I've got the clearance but of course I wont know until they are actually fitted, will post my findings.

    Lug centric wheel nuts

Hi Chaps, my wheels aren't hub centric and so are only centred by either the conical or sleeved nuts depending what wheel is fitted. My alloys use the sleeved nuts, steels the conical type, I recently bought the alloys and after a bit of research have just ordered/received the sleeved nuts for...

    Lug centric wheel nuts

Hi, sorry about the vagueness, but with the conical lug nuts because of their shape I would imagine they centre the wheel on the hub better compared to the sleeved lug nuts which would have clearance because the sleeve goes through the wheel so possibly mis-centreing it. My concern is vibration...

    Lug centric wheel nuts

I was just wondering, with the sleeved type of lug nuts that actually go through the wheel and have flat washers, surely they cant be that accurate when centreing the road wheel, especially when compared to conical lug nuts. What are your thoughts on this?

    p6 police minilites

Thanks for the help Harvey :D Yes the degradation if they were Magnesium is also a concern, I guess as the name suggests ie Minilite, lite meaning made from magnesium for weight saving there is a fair chance they are, but I'll contact them for more info. Thanks for the help will look into this.

    p6 police minilites

Mine also have nuts holding the valves, by the looks of it though the rubbers have perished so they'll need replacing. Can I ask Harvey do these wheels take a particular wheel retaining nut or would the nuts from the existing steel wheels be ok? (All be it a bit ugly.)

Harvey, hope you dont mind me asking heres one of my wheels would yours be the same? Also would they be magnesium alloys or the alluminium type.

    p6 police minilites

Hi all, just trying to find out some info about these wheels that i've just acquired. Apparently they were used on police cars? Looking back through past posts, apparently Harvey has a set, if you read this Harvey whats your opinion on these Police minilites, I was told they're very rare.

    Minilite Wheels

Hi, the wheel material itself looks to be in pretty good condition ie no pitting, but how can you tell if its magnesium or ally? Would be an awful shame not to fit these wheels, unless of course I get them refurbed/checked out. Regards Brian

    Minilite Wheels

Hi all, I've managed to get hold of a genuine set of Minilites for my P6, I say genuine because "MINILITE ENGLAND" is cast into them. I hear that they are rare & were fitted to some police cars, is this right & would anyone have any more information on them? Regards Brian

    rears re-sleeve

It is with a heavy heart that I've realised at some stage I must get my rear calipers sleeved. It looks like they've been machined in the past going by the oversize piston & having seen the price for replacement calipers I'm hoping sleeving is going to be slightly more economical . Can anyone...
