my brain must have seized when he was speaking because i spoke to him again and what he actually said was that the gaskets around the slide have worn i guess my ignorance is showing

hi chris that's what i originally thought, but he insisted it was a valve inside that began with an "S" i bloody forgot what he actually said  - such was my annoyance

hey i got the car back from the garage today and it turns out that a valve the carb is gone. there's too much fuel getting through and causing the original miss and now that the fuel filter is on there's so much getting through that the revs are all over the place options are: new carb...

hi chris just waiting for the new condenser to arrive so i can fit it. i doubt there are many garages around here (Abertillery) that could do what you're suggesting and as for doing it myself - with my lack of expertise, just looking at it is likely to result in a fire thanks dafydd

good day gentlemen just to keep you all updated. i've fitted an inline fuel filter and replaced the oil in the dashpot, but alas these have not affected the strange miss(thing) - no worse, no better - there is however the return of an old problem. Since adding the fuel filter the engine will...

hi we've tried everything with the bits, but there's just too much and short of changing the fuel tank and line there isn't anything left to try. anyway... i forgot to mention the current problem only happens when the engine is warm (if that makes a difference) thanks dafydd

hi Chris I'll try that one next. I've already run a few tanks of petrol through it and it's still the same and i have regular problems with the float chamber flooding/full of bits, but that problem predates this one by almost a year thanks Dafydd

hey it must seem i only come around with some sort of problem that needs fixing and to a certain extent that's true, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance. We have a new problem (this is another new one after the bloody clutch hose breaking leaving me stranded by a lake in mid Wales in some...

that seems like a very smart solution that looks to be a common problem. I already checked the other side and it look "good", but then so did the other one up until it went. I'm definitely going to keep an eye in it from now on though.
