Time permitting I will get around to taking the wires off one by one so I can eliminate the ignition switch etc and then if it still does it remove the motor...

    Thanks for the advice. I will take it out and have a good look. I read that it should be the inertia type starter but looking at it and comparing it to the picture in the Haynes (I know) I presumed it was pre-engaged. Thanks again Spoke

    Just introducing myself to the forum, I have a 2200 SC at the moment which has been put on hold due to two children coming along and various DIY jobs but I am hoping to get started on it again soon. Needs a bit of welding and tidying up but will hopefully be running again soon.
