    finally got the car back from the garage after the carb rebuild and now it's running beautifully, except for the small problem of it not starting, at all... ever. balls!! thanks for all the help dafydd

    my brain must have seized when he was speaking because i spoke to him again and what he actually said was that the gaskets around the slide have worn i guess my ignorance is showing :oops:

    hey i got the car back from the garage today and it turns out that a valve the carb is gone. there's too much fuel getting through and causing the original miss and now that the fuel filter is on there's so much getting through that the revs are all over the place options are: new carb...

    hi chris just waiting for the new condenser to arrive so i can fit it. i doubt there are many garages around here (Abertillery) that could do what you're suggesting and as for doing it myself - with my lack of expertise, just looking at it is likely to result in a fire thanks dafydd
