Hello all,
After refurbishing my tatty seats, I'm putting them back in the car, along with some new Securon 254 rear seat belts.
I know there are issues with needing spacers to mount the reel to avoid the belt dragging, as well covered on this forum over the years. I have spacers of about 20mm height ready to go on.
When I've got the rear seat squabs in place, I can't for the life of me see how the inertia reel will fit between the mounting point and the back of the seat. Hopefully the attached photo will show what I mean. The threaded hole (shown with a bolt in it for clarity) seems to be too far forward and "outboard" in the car to allow the reel to sit anywhere near the shelf. I'm assuming the belt needs to emerge from the reel towards the front of the car?
If anyone has a photo of a successful Securon 254 installation on the back shelf, I'd be very grateful to see it. My car is a Series 1 2000 if that makes any difference.
Many thanks.
