What have I got - What V8 have i got

I have come accross a V8 to go in my 1950 series 1 landy. Trouble is I do not know what it is out of and cannot seem to trace the engine numbers. Might be a P6. Numbes stamped are BA 82291 then below 813769 A although the 8 could be a 6. Anyone know what I have got?

BA 82291 looks very much like a Ford engine number.

rover v8 followed scheme of 2 numbers, 1 letter then more numbers.

none of the above computes.

The engine number and compression ratio are stamped on the left side of the block in between the centre two spark plugs , near the dipstick.On earlier models the engine number is stamped on horizontal flat surface at the rear of the left-hand cylinder bank
