water pipes?

Would anyone know where I can find water hoses for a 1970 series1 p6 200tc? I have one with a leak somewhere from one of the hoses but I will be damned if I can find the bloody leak! Getting ready to change the lot and have done with it, if only I could find any...... motor factors in this area don't want to be bothered as to them it's an old banger. To me she is beautiful!.......

They are bringing out the white suits soon..... straight jacket style! :wink:
 
You have your very own P6 supplier just down the road in Doncaster, ianP6man - he is your best bet
 
I had a leak I could not trace on my car,I replaced all the hoses as a matter of course,it turned out to be the heater matrix that was to blame!
I found this out by,joining the in and out heater pipes together,and running it for a week.i had no water loss,so it hasd to be the matrix!
I removed only what was req to strip it out and fitted a spare one I had.It was fiddly,but easier than removing the whole assembly!
No more water loss!!
 
Could also be a weeping headgasket into the combustion chamber?? That can give water loss without visible signs,also hard to spot is a weeping core plug or side plate,that evaporated with heat almost straight away!
A pressure test is one way to try to find it!
 
May be coming from where the pipes join the rad / water pump. My car has always had two Jubilee clips on the bottom hose. When I put the engine back in I put them back as it was. Then Harvey commented on them and I though, mmm, good point. So I removed one and it started to dribble. Not sure why it needs two on the bottom pipe, the pipe is in good nick. May be worth a try?
 
Many thanks toall the replies and advice I got for this - have got the pipes now and new thermostat..... will try pipes first and then if that does not fix it work through the rest of the car - Its coming off the road next winter to have engine top end redone, (new head gasket and skim).
Took it out for the first time in 3 months today and cant understand why I haven't been driving it all the time! Must be mad but I think I got the bug BIG TIME!but with 5 classics what else can I be?!?!?!
