WANTED 2rear Doors and an os rear wing

If the time presents itself I am hoping to go to a breakers yard where a few weeks ago I saw the car that someone posted a message about on here. I saw that all the doors were with it and were red lead primed and all the window frames and mechanisms were detached and in the boot. The doors did not look to bad but the wings had already gone. The car is/was a 2200TC and still had the full engine and auto G/box. I will let you know or even post pictures (assuming it is still there)

Okay... The car is still there as is a 3500. However both are at the back of the yard and near to the crusher. The base units are now crushed but what there is I have taken a photo of.

On the 3500 is a sunroof and a very large what I can only assume as "a wind deflector".

But what about the condition of those 2 leather seats in the TC!!!!!!!!!

The leather seats look great. Its a shame they will be crushed. Their must be someone out their who could save them. Is the bonnet worth saving as i may replace mine if it cant be repaired. where is the v8 located.

It's a bit sad to see the one with doors in beiing scrapped as it looks like someone has spent a lot of time working on the base unit.

I wouldn't worry about the bonnet too much fizza. There seem to be hundreds of them floating around for S2's. If they turn up on ebay they rarely fetch much.

Lot's of useful bits & bobs there. Where is the yard? Anywhere near London? The Leather seats look marginally better than mine though they've also gone curly around the edges. The V8 could maybe furnish some un-damaged cloth rear squabs too which I could use. Possibly the drivers seat as well.
I always have loved rooting around in breakers yards.
:)

The yard is called "DEATONS" and it is in Staveley, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire (about 4 miles from junction 30 of the M1). I fear it wont be long before the TC is crushed... I may well see how hard it is to get the leather seats out (after I know what they will cost) and price up some other parts. The TC has only been in the yard a few weeks and already it is in line for squashing ???

If anyone is going to the scrapyard, the one in the photos, then the wind defelector is worth saving. The larger defelector is an item that is more difficult to find. Take the webasto roof off too if its in half decent condition, it can always be recovered.

Wish i was up chesterfield and not in london.
Regards
Paul.

Too far for me too. Shame! :(
I hope someones going to take advantage of all the salvageable bits. I mean, whats the point of leaving headlights & things like that behind when you'll only pay a few quid for them from the breakers but new they're about £15 a piece? Wiper motors, very easy to remove on the P6. A recon will set you back £75. I'd be crawling all over them if they were down here.
Don't wait until you need the parts.

To far for me to, I wish i had'nt looked at the pictures now. Its such a waste, you would think the salvage yards would dismantle the main parts as they could make a tidy sum and help keep parts of this much loved car in circulation.

Miniman - are you in scotland - I have a set of SC2200 doors - c/w glass - going cheap

Thoese black seats are no good, the reason the piping is wibbly is the leather has shrunk - I had a very good black interior with the exception of the front seat bases -- still have the black rear seats in good nick - they will be in the dump by next week end thou. Lack of space ! if you want them SHOUT NOW -- prefer swap for something .....anything!

Depends on how bad your own seats are as to whether you think the seats are no good. Wibbly edges don't make the seat any less comfortable & not everyone is worried about having everything perfect, especially if the car is a daily driver. In fact, some cars look better for NOT being in showroom condition, particularly if they're in original, unmolested condition. The search for perfection can be a two-edged sword as it can make people scared to use the car for fear of damaging one of the expensively-bought items.
Took a look at my back seats & they're in very nice condition too as a lot of them are. Seats do take up a lot of storage space.
Go-on Jules65, take your toolbox up there & get stripping. It's one of the best ways you can spend a Saturday.
ONE of them...... :)

scauto,
