Hello Rover friends,

I am John and i live in the Netherlands, i have 3 kids.
Becouse i want to buy a P6, i need more info about the 3500, the do's and dont's.
Is there a buyersguide somwhere where i can learn about this car?<edit found it!>

Mechanically, if everything works you should be OK, especially as parts availability is good. I guess the main thing to look out for is that the chassis is not rotten underneath the bolt on panels and sill covers. You can certainly find P6s that look to be in excellent condition bodywork wise but are rotten behind the panels. I suppose most sellers will be reluctant to let you remove panels for inspection. However, the squab part of the rear seats easily lift out and the sound deadening/carpets can be lifted away to let you see the condition of the rear floor and especially the little box sections near the C pillar at the back of the sills. You can also use a torch to look up behind the front wheel arches and have a good look underneath. The link talks about the rear brakes being hard to work on but they aren't too bad with the car jacked up and the differential lowered slightly (only 3 bolts to remove).
