Hello,

I am a new P6 owner. 'TLO' my 1973 2000 SC Auto arrived a couple of weeks ago. As with any 40 year old car there are many things that need doing however, I shall use the car over the Summer and set about sorting the old girl out during the winter. So far a cooling flush, thermostat, and a new alternator! I have set up a youtube account and will add more to it as time goes on.

Hello & welcome TLO. Loved the video - very good :D . I can vaguely remember 1973 and even that Eye Level music being popular  . Look forward to more updates please and happy driving over the summer :D .

Simply wonderful! and I really like the rear window sticker to. Music certainly brings back memories... mostly of course from the TV series that featured it "Vander Valk"
Over here in NZ we had our fair share of "Carless days" I managed to miss out on all that carry on as was a government worker in an essential job so was exempt it.
Look forward to seeing more of your well kept masterpiece.

Graeme

Those trumpets !! Whow Played very loudly
Great piece of stirring music - fits perfectly with the video

Whilst I liked the show at the time it is now upon reflection that I can say that the character played by Barry Foster was one "cool dude" certainly awoke a lot of nostalgia in me hearing it again after so may years, even persuaded me to download the theme and watch a few uTube episodes of the series.
Probably my affection for it has been heightened for it being of 50% Dutch and 50% English parentage. Certainly the 70's was a wonderful moment in modern history which only now are we comming to appriciate as we trasition from a similar period now.

Hi TLO

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for the YouTube link. Really good way to show the car off. I have very vague memories of watching Vandervalk too. Nice piece of accompanying music.

Welcome. Nice video to introduce your car. I remember "Eye Level" being one of the very few records my mother went out and bought as single. I think it was all the mums buying it that pushed it quite high up the charts.

enjoy your P6!

Neil

Welcome. I was not around at the time and have never heard that piece of music but the opening theme instantly reminded me of the chorus of Mama Cass' "make your own kind of music" strangely also from 1973....
When does the tax exemption for the '73 cars start? Or has it already?
Jim

TLO will have it's last 6 month tax disc purchased in October this year. April next year TLO will be tax free.
