Some wee problems

Hello DD,

Not a problem,...glad to have been of help... :D

As you're getting flooding on the secondaries,...some more info for you...."The correct fuel pressure is very important, 3.5psi is the minimum, 4.5psi is the usual and up to 6psi is acceptable".

Hope it all goes well!!

Ron.

Found one more problem, it's leaking past the float adjuster screws 70% of the time. I've got the carb out and it must be the secondary needle and seat, when on the car I can raise the float to close the needle/seat with a small screwdriver through the level hole, it doesn't turn the fuel flow off regardless of adjustments. Whilst stripping the carb I am removing absolutely everything and checking it's condition or if it's working correctly. I found, with close inspection that the needle and seat on the secondary has been "crimped" or pinched at some stage by some blundering ectoplasm with pliers. So, basically it will close, unledd the needle turns, then it jams. Getting new needle and seats dropped off tomorrow =} So, I will just be cleaning and doing panel work today.

Replaced both needle and seats, then followed Rons' tune up guide. Running beautifully now! The needle was occasionally getting jammed on both floats and flooding the whole lot.

Thanks Ron!
