Hi guys,
As you know I've not had my lovely 3500 long but I have had the offer of a lifetime on a lifelong dream vehicle so the rover has to go ASAP to fund the new one! As you know I had a few cooling problems with her when I bought her but this was simply due to antifreeze that had been left in for a little too long and had crystalised a tad! Read my posts for more info if you like.
She's a 3500 auto with 's' trims, buckskin interior, black vinyl roof with webasto and it's original wind deflector. 3 owners from new, almost full history, old tax discs, passport to service and original handbook and rover service and distribution centers book; might not be much use now though!!
The rear calipers and brakes are all new as are the fronts. The trunk, sorry boot area is spotless, not a speck of rot. She's done 83k from new and the box was recently reconditioned so is perfect. The engine is as sweet as a nut!
Anyway since I've owned it she has had new battery, new plugs, oil changed, filter, complete flush and back flush of cooling system, new thermostat 88 degrees with correct 12 o'clock 3mm hole. We've also had the PAS drained and refilled. Works so much better for that.
She's fitted with the buckskin leather flat pleat interior which is in fair condition, only minor cracking on the front driver seat. She has the full webasto sunroof which is in excellent condition and doesn't leak! 3500 s hub caps in great condition. All the chrome is in great condition too. Also has the boot mounted spare kit, although I've take it off for winter, the tyre is mounted in the boot and the adaptor is in there too.
She could do with a lick of paint I'd say, most urgently on the bonnet and boot where it has flaked, like they do, although it has been touched in by the previous owner. The rest of the car will get away with a good machine buffing which I will try to get done before the sale. She needs window seals to 3 windows (the belt line ones). At the moment the fuel gauge doesn't work but a new sender has been fitted and wiring has been tested, so I reckon it's the guage. I'm going to get one before sale and try to get it fitted, if not it will come with the sale.
Tyres are all good, as is the suspension and mechanicals. Box changes smoothly with no hesitation.
I also have two fibreglass rear wings in almond yellow and two boxes full of spare bits and bobs eg light lenses and gaskets, condensers, original factory radio (lw & mw) new pedal rubbers, spare mirror and a spare dizzy cap.
After some digging it looks like this is going to need a small repair. Better than most I've seen though and the other side is perfect.
The overriders are safe in a box with all their fixings. It was a personal preference thing! So is the series 1 grille badge. I can either take it off or leave it where it is, up to the buyer.
I think the MOT is July 2012 but I'll check when I'm home tonight. She is taxed until the end of March 2012.
Looking for around £1800 but this is open to negotiation for the right person.
