Scrap Man Crushed My Cars

I went down to "my" yard following a tip off that some of my cars were gone & it turns out there was a scrapman in crushing stuff & because my cars weren't complete he considered them to be scrap there for the taking. I've lost my 2 3500S spares cars with nice V8s & S boxes & my Magnum Coupe with Blydenstein 2.3 & 5 Speed ZF
The cars were well shot but those engines & boxes were worth good money plus all the other odds & sods. I've got a Bedford CF down there still full of bits so I need to get a move on & sort that out before that goes aswell

I've got to be honest I think it's more of a mistake than a crime because he was in there to crush scrap for the yard owner & probably saw my stuff as scrap as it was piled high with junk but it's no less annoying.

I've learnt a big lesson though & that's not to share any yards or buildings with anybody else for storing my gear, I've had so much bad experience over the years starting with a massive barn we used to rent but one person fell out with the farmer & we all had to go, then we relocated to another farm but he was a very awkward & strange man so I got out of that place & ended up outside in a haulage yard with the afore mentioned result.

WHAT A REAL BUMMER!!! :x :x
In that case your claim lies with the yard owner,as it is his responsibility to,make sure whoever he has in,to do whatever he wants doing, does not touch any items that do not belong to him!!,but to co-users of the area!!
If it is proven that he did inform the scrap company/man,and he then just took it upon himself to help himself, then he is liable!!
I had a 1/2 rebuilt XJ6 4.2L engine scrapped when I was using a lock up with the owners permission, the head was away being skimmed!!
Very fortunatly they didnt take the car!!
I was really Pi##ed off with the owner, who should of known better! It ended up costing him for a replacement engine for my XJ6,and a big drink for me to calm me down!! :D
He was mortified when he found out what had happened, and it was himself that offered to buy another engine for me,so he did do the decent thing!!
Good luck in whatever you decide to do about it!

thats the trouble with the scrap man.
He really doesnt know a good bit of metal when he sees one!!!!
sorry to hear about your loss, if it was me id be fuming and would want justice done!

Gutting isn't it
I lost two perfectly good P6's and two Commer PB's full of motorbikes like that,
A few years ago i used to rent a small bit of fenced enclosure behind what was once a well known DIY store,it wasn't a huge space, just enough room for 4 vehicles,it had a double gate and barbed wire around the top so it was pretty secure (or so i thought)
At the time i was working in a motorcycle repair shop about a mile or so away,
One of my mates pulls up on his Suzuki GT550 and says "I see you've cleared the yard out", it took a while for the penny to drop, i jumped on his bike and shot off down the road like a demon possessed, when i got there i found both gates had been ripped open and my yard empty,
I took the following day off work and proceeded to go through the phone book and visit every scrapyard that was in a 20 mile radius of the shop, i only ever found the boot lid for 588 KX,

R,I,P 588KX and UXC 137J

This is the only thing i have left of UXC,
