Replacing Interiors

Hi guys. I would like to replace my cloth seats, which have gone rotten in places with leather ones, but I suspect I shall probably have to change other interior fitments also eg. door pillar cappings, rear quarter panels, rear parcel shelf, glovebox fronts etc. due to a colour change with the interior on offer. How are these things fixed and are they difficult to swap?. Thanks, Geoff

Geoff.

Door pillar cappings just pull off once the seat belts are unbolted.

The rear quarters are held in place at the bottom by screws which you will see better once the back seats pieces are out. They hang at the top with brackets which you will see when you remove the screws. Rear parcel shelf just sits there under the quarters, it isn't fixed.

Glove boxes are bolted by two bolts each, just underneath. If you get your head low down or kneel down at the side of the car, you'll see them.

The job is easy. For the novice, probably the day would suffice removing one interior and replacing it with the other.

Dont be put off. Just remember to take it easy. If it wont budge, dont force it!!

Johnny. :D

Thanks for the good advice. Unfortunately I've just been told the interior I was going to have went to Italy last week so I shall have to wait on the next oppertunity. Ho hum ! ???

Geoff.

What a small world! I sold a trim on eBay the other week. A guy from Italy wanted to buy it but I didnt have the time or room to pack it properly.

Funny thing was, his english wasnt the best (like my Italian), he asked me to put it on a pallet, wrap it in paper but first of all smear the trim with grease!!

Anyway, hope the advice serves you well when you find one.

Johnny! ???
