Rear Quarter lights - How to free the hinge ?

My rear Quarter lights have always been siezed up. Having examined the workshop manual I deduced that the long pin rotated in the door, but it looks like I was wrong. When I took the trim off, this pin seemed firmly bolted into the afforsaid door. Does the chrome frame pivot round the pin ?
Any suggestions on what to Oil, hit or heat would be greatfully accepted.

ISTR the frame does indeed pivot on the rod Ron.
I wouldn't try heat if the glass is still intact, just in case.
WD-40 or similar could be used to try to free it up.

It would be unusual for it to be seized on the pivot though. Are you sure it's not just a case of the glass being obstructed/restricted by the rubber seal on the side nearest the catch?
You could try some silicon spray or rubber dressing on the seal to persuade the glass past it if that is the case.

Thanks.

No the frames are definetly stuck, I know this as someone in the past has removed the rubber glass/frame seal. The glass pivots within the frame (sort of). Took me while to realise this was not as it was supposed to be ! :(
