Please could anyone give me some tips on aligning the boot on my series one 2000,I have tried the usual adjustments as described in the manual but it still sits proud on the rear decker panel closing edge. Also the hinge gap is very wide on one side and tight on the other, when all the bolts are loose I can line the hinge gap up perfectly but on tightening up the gap runs out again.Any suggestions would be most helpful regards gary smith

It could be worth while if you have a beautiful assistant to lie in the boot and titghten the bolts with you lining it up on the outside. grand kids are ok, wife ? Don't think mine would like the idea to much so I'd be careful how you phrase the request.

Small child required here I think!

Offer them a McDonalds if they will do it.

Seriously though - the old boot fitted fine? - If so then it is just possible that when you removed it you SLIGHTLY bent the arm things that attach the boot lid when you removed the 'old' one.
