Hello,
how much and what kind of noise padding goes between the carpet and
the gear box channel? How is it held in place? What can be done to
improve noise insulation from under the centre console?
Reason for this rather odd question is the "drone" between 40 and 50 Mph.

I don't at all think that padding here controls the shake but as one of the
local mechanics said "one never knows".
I can confirm that after I paid for his training by handing over 35£ for the information, he certainly has not learned a thing.
