New TC owner

2000TC

New Member
hello all, picked myself up a 1969 2000TC this evening, not bad condition, just a bit of rust on the bottoms of all doors.
had some problems getting home, as after getting some petrol, she decided not to restart - battery!! managed to get a jump start, so was ok.
Been looking through all the history i got with the car, and have found out that a new short engine was fitted in 1986 - car had done 86603 miles, and now has 15415 miles on the clock (should read 115415), which means the engine has only done about 30k! Might be selling the car again now, as purchased it with the intention of using it for a daily driver / track club car - seems a shame to use an engine with such low mileage for this.

Aha! another TC owner, I've just got a 68 2000TC, mines got rusty door bottoms too, just trying to work out whether to replace or have marathon welding session, yours does sound nice, if I were you I'd drive it, they make lovely daily drivers, makes going to and from work a pleasure, sure beats sitting in some clone mobile staring at bland plastic and generic controls. The missus has an SC and she uses it as a daily driver, I have worked out a weekly check schedule and so far it hasn't missed a beat, only thing I'd say is make sure the underseal is in good nick before using through winter, and keep it clean, go on enjoy yourself!
cheers
Jon.
