Nada Bonnet Wanted

If their the same as the originals then they should bolt on. You should be able to see the join! The single scoops were only fitted to series 2 V8 autos with air-con with chassis suffix A, that is, cars with HS6 carbs & the early 4 way fusebox ( I know, I need to get out more). The single scoop does look good on the series 2 bonnet!

Roly.

With regard the scoop;
1) Could I paint it and simply bolt it on, without the need to repaint whole bonnet?
2) Will the bonnet need a hole cutting?
3) Are there any additional bits needed except the scoop?

Cheers

If you just put the scoop on, then yes, you can paint it and bolt it on.

As long as you don't want it for practical purposes, such as to bring extra air onto your plenum chamber, then you wouldn't need to cut a hole. Just drill (I think) six small holes to bolt through from the inside.

Just the scoop.. if you want, I'll take a photo of my spare one tonight so you can see what it's like..

What can I say. Scoop arived today. Was worried about being fibreglass and worried about fit.

Opened package, placed on bonnet, spent 20 mins dressing, 10 mins etch priming and 10 mins primer filling.

Have placed 6 self tapping bolts in it, drilled bonnet and cut scoop to let twin plenum breath.

Will flat and paint within next few days and fit.

Was ordered from Classeparts. To date I have used a number of traders and had reconditioned calipers with pitted pistons and non operative when fitted, hence MOT failure .... told ill have to pay again and send mine up to be "Inspected". He hasnt got to take all the back brakes off again and re MOT ... I will end up driving to the Midlands and launching it through his window. Similarly I have bought rubbers that I would have been better off sticking condoms around my screens and old inner tubes!

Classeparts on other hand, is heralded by a chap in Luton who knows his stuff. He will sit on the phone and has talked me through clutch problems on my conversion, swirl pot options, cooling problems, injection set ups, fueling set ups and on and on. Also his bits are good.

For serious parts and blinding advice, use Classeparts ..... keep him going as this chap is a valuable asset to the P6 scene 01268 382968 he does quality stuff and does not mug you off. This bloke is like the old traditional English pub, where you could get a good pint of beer, smoke a cigarette and swear .... unfortunately disappearing from the landscape as we all know its good, but dont use enough and will bloody well miss when gone!!!.

Glad you're pleased with your scoop. I think they look spectacularely good on the S2 bonnet.

Also glad you rate Alan as highly as I do. He's not the cheapest but he does know his stuff!

Chris

I bought one of the NADA bonnets from G.Greenwood (07770 433336). It is brand new. He ordered two bonnets in 1971 for repairs and accidentally ordered the wrong part number. He told me he had them in the garage ever since. I paid £100 for it and it cost the same to get it transported to Bristol.
