Low mileage 3500S fairly cheap

Sadly I'd suspect the car has probably done 115k miles....if they've got nothing pre-1993 it'll be, in likelyhood, second time round the clock - the car was 21 years old then...they've taken the mileage on the MOT's at face value.

I thought that but the upholstery seems very good for 115k, so I would expect to find restoration evidence if I was buying it! I know my delicate girth would have flattened the drivers seat to oblivion by that mileage

I thought that the mileage should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it says that it has low miles in the ad, and it's a talking point if nothing else.

Wish I could get £800 for doing a set of rear brakes.

I've got a few more pairs for you Harvey.

At £800 a set I'll do as many as you've got.

(Somehow I don't think that's going to be the case though. )

If it's Ambla the stuff (which it may well be) can be almost indistructable! :D

Looks like it to me. Don't think they did box pleat leather with a soft back?

It's amazing the different spec for cars the same age though. This is the same year as mine and yet mine has the metal spoked steering wheel and different front seat belt clips.

I notice the handbrake has been left off....a precaution or something to hide

Looks nice though.

Will you settle for 400 sets at £20 a shot?

20 sets at £400 a shot? No problem, you can start dropping them round in the morning.*

*(Oh sorry, I forgot, you don't do mornings do you. )

The car probably doesn't have PAS, hence the original steering wheel. The seat belts have the holders that came on line in about September 1972.

I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to persuade my good lady that it's a good idea to go and see it as it's so close to home. She doesn't believe me when I say 'it's not for me, it's for the lads on the forum who might be interested'.....

Why is ok for her to look at £200k+ houses for sale in the local paper, but not ok for me too have a look at a £2k car...?

Nidge

The large steering wheel was standard on non-PAS cars. We broke a 1975 3500S last year that had it. However a lot of cars have had the wheels changed for the spoked ones - it may even have been done at the dealership when she was new.
