How lifting out the moter?

I just started by unbolting anything that was attached to the chassis, and anything that's in the way.. then lifted.

Failing that, a good owners manual can give a few hints and tips.

Ok, i have loosen everything but just specific how to lift i have a workshop manual but where the slings on?
In the manual i see an bar with to chains and hooks where they fitted on,if somebody have pics .

Hi Hans
I took a V8 engine and gearbox out of a donor P6 over the easter weekend and put it into my restoration project Monday of this week, so the job is fresh in my mind. There are two lifting brackets on the cylinder heads, one at the back on the left of the engine and one at the front on the right, looking from in front of the car. Check out this photo and you will see where the chains from the engine hoist are attached.

You will need to tilt the engine quite drastically to clear the bonnet slam panel at the front, above the radiator. This is easer without the inlet manifold and carbs on. Raise the back of the car on ramps or axles stands to make it easier to get beneath the car and remove the gearbox crossmember.
Good luck, and take care, bloody heavy if it falls on you!
