Greetings from NZ! My name is Al and I have been a dedicated P6 nut at least a dozen years now and have spent a lot of time collecting all the P6 toys, brochures, ads and magazine articles that I can get my hands on. I have been a member of the P6ROC for about 5 years. My current fleet consists of a LHD '67 2000 (now 2200TC) auto (ex USA), Arden Green, Ebony vinyl, Magstar wheels, Sundym, Icelert and ETs. A '68 2000TC, Venetian red, Ebony leather, Wire wheels, Wooden steering wheel & gear knob, HRW, badge bar, ETs, touring kit etc. And the latest project, a '71 3500 auto Estate, being built to NADA specs. Cream with Buckskin leather, Rostyles, ETs, triple scoops, Sundym, electric windows, Icelert, sunroof, Square eights and hopefully a 3.9 efi and ZF 4spd auto. It's been going a bit slowly lately but I will be getting into some welding very shortly and trying to solve some tricky problems. ie: Did anyone ever figure out where the rear windscreen came from? Mine's cracked.
Oh well, it's all part of the fun! Al...

Hi Dave, OK, I just figured it out! Here you go. The V8 is minus an engine at this stage, hence the ride height.

Hi Al,

I'm doing exactly the same with my '70 P6B Estate - rebuilding to NADA spec. I even shipped over a NADA car from the States to get all the parts

Where on earth did you find an Estate in NZ? I knew there was one in Oz, but never that side of the water..

Thanks for the comments folks! I definitely think EFI is the way to go. I have a complete setup from a Vitesse that I could fit to the original 3.5 But I think I will try to find a 3.9 or similar with the hotwire gear. More power can't hurt eh? And the ZF trans (from a Daf) is already sitting in the car awaiting some minor fitting tweaks. I didn't find the Estate in NZ, I had to import it from UK. (and most of the NADA stuff has come in bit by bit from Ebay) It was an expensive wee exercise but I've wanted one ever since I first read James Taylor's book years ago. As far as I know, it's the only estate here. I believe there is one in Oz, a couple in the States and the rest are scattered around Europe and UK.
I would be interested in building an injection system for the TC as well. Has anyone out there done it? I know a guy here has built one for his series 2 TC using a hand built manifold and 'Link' programmable computer and he reckons that it is now quicker than his 'S'. I'm trying to persuade him to show it to me but he is being a bit evasive... I would like to try and make one as close as possible to the factory 'Brico' system- Just for kicks!
Cheers, Al...

Hi Al,

That really is a great collection. And I'm a bit like Dave, but I remembered to put my bib on first! :D

Might be worth a post on the V8 Owners Forum (if you're not already on there) for EFi and other kit. ISTR there's one or two NZ members on there.

Cheers,

Hello KiwiRover. Welcome along. A nice trio of fine Rover P6s you have there, all looking very handsome indeed. I particularly like the Arden Green car with the Magstars, and the white (or clear) indicator lenses on the front of two of your rides. I will be interested to hear how you get on fitting EFi to your V8 Estoura. Please post more pictures as your project progresses.

Gidday Al!

But it seems we have already met. We've corresponded a little over Rover bits, me disguised as TradeMe's "bogchook".

Gee! The internet is such a small place.

And I would like to follow up with you regarding a Series 2 window winder knob.

Well hello Warren! Thats no problem. I have a regular wanted ad on TM so you can just E-mail me direct from there. :)

Cheers Al! The knob wasn't placed high on my priority list, but if you happen to have one lying around and want to set up an auction (to keep you in TradeMe's good books) I'll be pleased to buy it off you. I think last time we mentioned knobs you had a box of S1 parts going.

Can do Warren, but I'm just heading down to New Plymouth for a couple of days so I'll set it up when I get back.

Al, there's no hurry for that. As long as I get one eventually - kind of like my bootlid liner. One day I'll find one, but until then the car will still be useable!

Are you heading to the 'Naki by Rover?

No, returning FROM the 'Naki with Rover. I hired a van and car trailer. I've just picked up a very interesting TC, primarily for parts but it's actually quite solid. I'll post some pictures soon.

We're all proud of you, Al. Even a weekend away is Rover-centric.

Having removed and stripped my inlet manifold today, I'm in need of new mounts for the air filter box (cylinder?). The old ones were all perished and disintegrated upon removal. Any idea of where to go for them?
