Hi Everyone.

I just joined this site after finding it recently. Although I am not currently a P6b owner I am definitely an "enthusiast". When I relocated to California (from Western Australia) I had to sell my beautiful P6b "Scarlet". Recently I stumbled across a NADA 3500s for sale on ebay and was immediately re-kindled in my enthusiasm. It wasnt complete so I started searching around about where to source parts (such as a petrol/gas tank) in the San Francisco Bay area and was dismayed to find that there didnt seem to be any options, or even classic car garages who say that they specialize in Rovers.

Alas I am not a mechanic, far more years ago than I am prepared to admit on an intro board ( :) ), I took mechanics in school so I know just enough to know that I would probably make an aweful mess and ruin the car if I tried to rebuild it. I am honestly in awe of some of the restoration work that is on this site.

I would dearly love to own another P6b, although my Wife says that its "ugly" and looks like "an old Volvo. (Any Family law exerts out there who know if this is grounds for divorce or not?) One day, when I find the right car, I will have another P6b, but for now I will just have to live vicariously through this site and all of you lucky owners.

Hello Derek,

Welcome to the forum... :D I am sure you will find another P6B in the future,...do you see many in California? There arn't too many around Sydney these days either,...but that just makes them all the more special.

Coming from Western Australia,..Perth? How do you find the United States and California?

Ron.

Sadly there are very few Rovers of any kind around here. I see an occasional P5 or an SD1 but I dont think I've ever seen a P6 on the roads here.

Yes coming from Perth to San Francisco was a bit of an adjustment, but Im getting used to it :)

Welcome Loth and yes it is "grounds for divorce" There may not be many p6's in the US but over here in NZ they litter the place and are cheap and pretty much rust free, a possible solution is to import one from NZ and locate a LHD wreck in the US and swap the neccasary bits over to comply with the US requirements.
