Hello from Portugal

Hi I live in Portugal and I own a Rover P6 2000 SC from 1967.
I am a lover of classic cars and beyond the Rover I am also owner of a Daimler XJ6 Sovereign from 1973, a Morris Ten-four M series from 1943 and a 1957 MGA roadster.
For the Rover, I have a problem with the brake circuit which is quite weird. :?
After a short time the engine is running at the brake pedal starts to get hard until it gets caught. Not to be stepping on the brake pedal to make this happen, since the engine is running the car locks itself.
I've replaced the brake servo but the problem persists.
On the road the car crashes as well, but after 5 or 10 minutes this happens and the car stays locked. Then I turn off the engine and wait 15 minutes and then its good again.
I appreciate your help to solve this problem.
Regards.

Another place to investigate is the rubber brake hoses, from what you discribe it could be that they are internaly blocked and holding hydralic pressure to the brake calipers which releases with time.

Hi!
Thanks for the advice.
This weekend I will first check the brake pedal height.
I hope the problem will be solved in this simple way.
Regards, João
