Greetings from Boston and best wishes to all for a Happy New Year.

2009 has found me to be the new owner of a 1969 Rover 2000TC courtesy of Dirk Buroughs and Steve Manwell. They have been badgering me for the last year or so to get a Rover and finally found me one in Maine and made me an offer I couldn't refuse (not that I tried too hard to resist). This now joins my collection of cars including a '79 MGB, a '91 Audi 100, a '96 Lincoln Town Car (that my son is working hard to kill after going through my Saab 900) and a '99 BMW 750iL.

I have committed to working on it at least a weekend a month, with the objective of have it ready for its debut at our first 2010 British Car Days at Faneuil Hall in June. As a newbie to the Rover marque, I am sure you'll see me a lot on this forum and asking all the same questions newbies do. I appreciate all the help the forum members can give me and ask you patience as I work to learn all about my new car. Unsolicited advise is always welcome and may save me some time and mistakes, so feel free to write me with your advise, resources, suppliers, common mistakes, etc. and you will have my eternal gratitude. I can be reached via my email at kfsteele@aol.com.

Thanks in advance for all your help and I hope to be a regular member of the forum as the project progresses.

Cheers!....................Kurt Steele a/k/a LeLimoMan

Well done that man and welcome on here! You'll find us all freindly and I hope helpfull. Agood plan to learn how to use the advanced search function (just below the search window in the top panel), there's a huge amount of historical advice available and potentially many happy hours reading. We wwon't mind if you need to repeat questions though, it's bound all to be a bit new at first!

Regards

Chris

Hi there,
Well done on making such a informed purchase (I've got a 68 2000TC) as chris said everyone's helpful on here, I'm relatively new to Rover's and I've got some first class advice on here. Best of luck with the new car I hope you enjoy it.
Cheers,
Jon.

Thanks Jon & Chris:

I belong to a number of car-specific forums and have always found them to be an invaluable resource. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience on any of them. Created a bit of controversy, but that's because people have strong opinions on what is "right & correct".

I am very fortunate to have been lured into Rover ownership by two of the most knowledgeable people in New England, Dirk Burroughs and Steve Manwell. Dirk runs the Rover North America Club and has over 50...yes 50!....Rovers dating all the way back to the early 1900's. Steve is just a piker by comparison with maybe 10, but he's also a Morgan fan. Two great guys who will play a key role in my Rover coming back to life.

I look forward to pursuing archives and will try not to ask too many dumb questions, but will say THANK YOU in advance to everyone who will be lending me advice. I'll also try to catalog our work on the car in pictures and share them with this site.

Have a great 2010 and cheers!

Kurt, I hate to break the news to you but you have some seriously sick friends, 50 Rovers! now thats over the top. I hope this isn't the start what could be a serious Rover addiction for you :D. Welcome and I know you will enjoy your new found driving passion.

Graeme
