Just spotted this fascinating unique P6 on ebay, item no. 150123280269
I am not the seller, just thought it would be of interest to other readers. I wonder what price it'll fetch?

It's quite sad really as this car keeps changing hands. It is a replica bearing the original index, rather than the original car (which the advert doesn't make clear at all) But it's still chuffing beautiful.

Cheers
Nick

Is that the one that was re-built into another base unit, having some of the "rally mods" re-fitted to the new shell too ?

was a donor shell used ??? or,was a new shell used ??? how long ago was it rebuilt ???
apart from the authentic reg no, anyone into p6's could easily knock up a replica/copy with enough period items attached! nearly did a red monte carlo repro myself last year!
I had too much on the go though!

It raises the whole question of how much do you change before the car you are supposedly restoring becomes in reality the car you are using as a donor.

the law says you can only retain the original reg if a 'NEW' shell is used! ???
There are probably plenty of cars, not just classics that have been re shelled out there,if the only thing to ID them is a rivet on or spot weld on chassis plate its easy.
I dont mind admitting I did it with a rusty '75' dolly sprint and used a 'free' 25k '80' 1850hl to rebuild it with. I told the new owner though!!
