Eastenders P6 crime!!

Greetings P6ers!

Has anyone out there got any info on the latest crime against humanity by the BBC on the set of Eastenders? In addition to the usual lamentable acting and abuse of the English language, the producers have just spent over £1 million on writing off a Rover P6 and not even managing to kill off Phil Mitchell! This major ratings stunt has been reported in the papers, but no explanation of the use of DVW 216G, a red V8 auto in series2 trim. She looks very tidy in the press pictures until she is wrecked in a front-ender which sends Phil through the windscreen and into intensive care...

I would love to find out more about this unfortunate piece of publicity for our favourite classic!

Thanks for the links, and good idea about the TV licence Dave!

I just wonder where the car came from and why they chose a P6... I guess it could be a reference to the gangster world of 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and Vinnie Jones's V8. Was the car willingly provided for slaughter or did the Beeb scouts just buy from an unsuspecting seller on Ebay?

Someone must recognise the reg.?
