dunlop calipers - rebuild kit

My fathers' 65 car appears to have a small n/s/f caliper leak. I understand that the pistons and seals are common to some jaguars? Is this correct and if so does anyone have the part numbers I need or the model Jaguar?

Alternatively who is the best Rover specialist to approach ref a reconditioned caliper or brake spares?

Many thanks

Hi,

I also have a Dunlop-fitted car & understand that whilst the calipers may be the same as some Jaguar ones, the actual pistons & cylinders have a slightly smaller diameter on the Rovers (something like 2 1/8 inch vs. 2 1/2 inch).

Phil. :)

my calipers are brand new never been used . i painted them blue with caliper paint and fitted new seals and pistons and not to forget pads. i did fit them to the car(so the paint may be chipped) but its never turned a wheel and my new house doesnt have a garage and now that we have a baby on the way my cash for the garage is needed elsewhere .

Hi, they are available brand new from the Lucas Service Centres - I bought a set about 18 months ago, from memory about £80.00 plus VAT for each one. (Now made in Germany!)
They were used on Jaguar & other cars.

Rears don't seem to be available new but can easily be reconditioned with a stainless steel liner.

Hope that helps.

Gary
