changing spark plugs

hi, i start to look around then engine of my P6 3500. I am looking for a good combination air filters/carburators/ spark plugs in order to save a little in fuel or at least to have a better combustion.
My engine is equipped with champion L87YC plugs and i would want to switch for NKG irridium plugs BR8HIX which are more or less in the same heat range . It has been very profitable on my bikes, reducing consumption betwwen 5 to 10% with less pollution.
Any opinion ? I will of course look after the carburators and new filters.
Furthermore, is ther any interest in isolating the air filter box, pipes to carburators, and adding an isolating pipe towards the front engine to get air as cool as possible.
Thanks for your advices and sorry for my english....

Ive got Champion L92YC and RYCO A1705 air filters in mine . Runs and breathes beautifully.
