Best option for car stereo?

As I was transferring the lead from one radio to another I didn't have to source any parts. Think Dave started from scratch, he might be able to help on the resistors used.

I think the resistors I used were about 1.4k but I'll check my stock when I get home tonight.

1.4K. Oooh err! From the pic in Happy Days' previous thread the resistors both appear to be three band black/red/yellow which equates to just 42 Ohms.

Or am I missing something?

The resistor value is probably experimental to a certain extent. Youre just getting the levels so they dont distort i guess.

With the values you've just talked about i'd try and get a 1.8k(think that's the right value?) pot so you can play the mp3 player with the top off the stereo and get the levels so they match the radio. When it's right tape it up and put it all back together?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to check my stock last night. I had a great night trying to fix a leaky carb

Have a look at this thread here. Scroll down for resistor values if feeding stereo into mono input. 4.7k resistors used. I think this is the guide I used for mine so resistor values will be the same.

I have an original Blaupunkt radio, modified so I can plug in my iPod :)

Just in case my idea is helping for someone.

I left the original Radiomobile untouched. It works perfectly, whilst only LW and MW.

In the glove box I installed a small amplifier, very cheap. Then connected to the MP3. Work done.

If you find out a good cable layout even the radio will work.

Just before Christmas I installed the fly lead in my Radiomobile 1085 as per Happy Days' guidance. I am very pleased with the results. I did change the original console and parcel shelf speakers for polypropylene coned moderns. Although in mono, it sounds pretty good to me. :D
