Badge bar

Hi Folks, I am looking for a curved badge bar for Dereks P6. As I am new to this :? I am finding it difficult to work out the right one to get. Can anyone please advise me where to get one, and what length is best :D Many thanks, Joan

I think I have one that I don't want, removed off a 2000TC. Rather than curved, it's a shallow 'V' in shape. I've a feeling that it's aluminium rather than chrome, if that's an issue. I'll have a look this evening or tomorrow.

That would be good, please let me know condition, and price if it is suitable. If not perhaps advice on where I can get one. Regards Joan

The proper one for the P6 is a 17" clamp to bumper desmo badge bar with a slight angle to it.
They are made of a polished stainless steel bar with chromed heavy metal mountings.
They are a bit thin on the ground and can get good prices.
A search of ebay may find something this weekend!!
Heres a pic of mine!

Wow thanks pilkie, love the badges. Been on ebay over the last few days, but was not sure of size. Now I know I will have another look when "himself" goes to work on Monday. Thanks again

I would like to find a badge for the center of the bar. Still looking for something like the Union Jack, the Northamptonshire Coat of Arms...

By the way, as you can see, the RAC badge is a bit damaged. The enamel is chipped.

It's a trick for you to know it. It was very easy to chip off all the enamel. Then I went into a Chinese shop (similar to your Poundstretcher) and find there a flask of varnish exactly same blue colour than RAC. Easy then to refill the badge's hollows.

The badge looks perfect now.

Nice one Shazzbat, and a great tip about the Pounstretcher blue enamel. Will try online for badge bar, then no doubt Derek will be wanting badges! This new love of his life is expensive.

Sorry, rather a busy weekend, and I was mistaken, the bar I though I had in my garage is off a BMW 5 series (and I can't find it). My unwanted P6 bar is still on my project car and is not in very good condition:

While I don't want it, I don't feel much like trying to remove it in this weather...

Thanks to all for all the help finding a badge bar. Managed to get one for Derek online from classic cars. Its 17" and new, with bumper fittings. Not quite what I wanted, but unfortunately could not find the real I am at price could afford. Thanks once again, the feedback was a great help. Joan. :D

shazzbat its a pity you are where you are as your headrests match my seats and my headrests match your seats!if ever we should meet we can swap!rich

Hi Rich. That pic is eight months old. Nowadays my headrests are covered with fabric same colour than seats.

That fabric came up from a cushion cover, 1.70 € each at the Chinese shop. A bit of wife's work with scissors, needles and thread and... voilà. Job done!

But of course it would have been much better if we had been much closer for swapping!
