Automatic gearbox oil.

Hello Gerald,

It sure is!

I have never seen Valvoline Type F on shelves here in New South Wales. I have known transmission places to have drums of Valvoline, but it was always Dexron fluids, even back in the 1980s as I would make it my business to ask.

Ron.

Good point re the duvets and paint deterioration over time.
Hadnt occurred to me.
Ive removed the cat thats now taken up residence on the roof amongst the warm duvets. Placed a cotton sheet over the paint and then back with the duvets.
Car gets better treatment than the owner.

That won't make any difference as the paint still won't be able to breathe. If you haven't got a cover made of specialist breathing material then the best thing to do is leave the car uncovered. Dust & dirt washes off.
I'm not sure if 2-pack paint is susceptible to melting & eating itself under these circumstances, but cellulose definitely is.

Thanks for that heads up Rovering Member
You are scaring me now
Fortunately I do have one of those breathable car covers ,so will biff the cat off the roof again ,and start again.
I just assumed that as Rover is in a dry shed she wouldnt need an all weather cover.
Perhaps a new topic should have been created to deal with this potential problem to paint surfaces.
I was unaware ,and assume others would be too.
good feedback -thanks

Well, she doesn't really if she's in a dry shed. It's best all round to let any moving air in there circulate around all parts of the car. I know that a layer of dust & dirt never looks nice but as I said, it washes off with plenty of soap & water. But if you want to use a cover, then the all-weather one is the thing to use.
