Am I Being Thick????

YES!!!

I've got some static seatbelts for my car & to me they seem to have been assembled wrong from new.

The short strap which mounts to the tunnel is fine, the lower mounting which mounts the lap part of the belt to the lower door post seems ok but the upper bracket which mounts the shoulder strap to the top of the door post appears to be the wrong way round.

Can anybody with static belts confirm for me that the bracket should stick out from the door post & the belt come down over the shoulder with no twists in it & the adjuster buckle facing out over, because if I mount mine with the belt straight the bracket points in towards the post & doesn't line up with the black plastic cover, if you mount the bracket what I think is the right way you need a twist in the belt to get it right at the bottom.

Am I right or am I missing something obvious????

Hi Colin,

I have recently fitted some Irwin static belts in Hermione and i had the same problem, until i realised that i was trying to fit the drivers belt on the passenger side  ,

Well the answer to my original question is still yes (most monumentally)
I studied & studied the belts last night, I sat in a chair & had someone hold the brackets in the right position & could still see no way of getting them to fit the right way, so I got ot my pile of P6 literature & the only shot of static belts in there didn't show the bit I was struggling with, suddenly a bright idea hit me  so I went out to the garage & bolted it into my Landcrab & it worked straight away :? :? :? :?
I'm sure this was all some evil plot to make me look stupid  (alright more stupid)

Regards Colin
