AIR CON / HEATER PUZZLE - Know anything about air con?

Not really an engine query - but didn't where else to pose this puzzler!
I have been contacted by an elderly gentleman who has a VIP for sale but who wants to get the heater working before he sells it. The air con works fine, but he can get no hot air!
Pretty important with Autumn on its way!
Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.
Have not been to see this car yet so further details to follow when known.

Is the theromstat operating properly? is the linkage for the heater valve working? Has the system been flushed.

how did you get on this weekend, did you manage to make any headway with the air-con system in the car.

Unfortunately my back injury, which had been improving, took a turn for the worse and I'm incapacitated for a while.

Well friends, I have now visited this owner and seen his car at which meeting he said that "the capilliary tube had been cut at some time in the past" so I guess that's the answer to his problem (unless you can tell me otherwise!)
